CLIMATE CHANGE- GIS

Andrew Bishop BSc Hons., MSc

I have recently completed my Master of Science Degree in Climate Change at the University of East Anglia in Norwich.  I graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Cartography and Geography.  From then until September 2006 I worked for Geographers’ A-Z Map Company Limited as a Cartographic Draughtsman.  I undertook this further degree to enhance my knowledge of environmental processes and policies.  I am now employed as a Flood Risk Management GIS Analyst and Data Officer at the UK Environment Agency, working on the Thames Estuary 2100 Project.

My primary interest is in high mountain climatic change, and glacial hazard mapping.  I have prepared a report outlining these topics which is available at the following link

Glacial Lake Outburst Flooding in the Himalayas: Implications and Strategies.

The full Master’s Degree dissertation entitled

A Cartographic, Remote Sensing and GIS-based Approach to Examining Glacial Lake Outburst Flooding Hazards in the Nepalese Himalayas
